Jou means play. These playfull Jou Jou Dolls (8" tall) are made one-by-one by our knitters. Each doll is one-of-a-kind and no two are alike. These dolls are made with love by artisans from donated yarn. Choose between boy or girl. From there each order is filled at random. And now we have Jou Jou Juniors (4"tall) which are about half the size of the regular Jou Jou but are just as adorable!
And, for those just north of us, we have Jou Jou Eskimo! The Eskimo versions of these dolls were requested by folks in Alaska and we just couldn't resist the challenge.
Inspired by traditional folk spirit symbols in Haiti, our newly designed Veve Symbol Sachets are exquisite in look, feel, and smell (these too are filled with organic open-bud lavender), and call to the spirits of the sky, of love, and of hard work.
The Veve Spirit Ayizan embodies empowerment, being powerful, and embracing all that you are and are becoming.
The Veve Spirit Legba is the crossroads allowing humans to communicate with the spirits facilitating communication, speech, and understanding.
The Veve Spirit Ogoun embodies the energy of the male warrior and calls on the power of iron. He is the spirit of metal work, rum, and rum-making.
The Ezrulie spirit embodies the energy of love and compassion. She is love, beauty, jewelry, dancing, luxury, and flowers.
The Veve Spirit Damballa rules the mind, intellect, and cosmic equilibrium.
Each design sachet is tied with 2 plain sachets in coordinating muted colors.
